Emma decided to study law later in life, gaining her Law degree in 2021, from the prestigious Birmingham Law School, University of Birmingham.
In 2023, Emma went on to obtain a Distinction in her Masters of Law from the University of Law in Birmingham.
Her dissertation title was ‘A Critical Evaluation of School Attendance Law in England: Is it time for Reform?’
In November 2024, Emma was called to The Bar of England and Wales after completing her academic training to become a Barrister*.
Most attendance law enquiries fall under criminal law i.e. Section 444 of the Education Act 1996
.
Emma is able to write and prepare defences for parents facing legal action for these offences.
Emma can and does represent in majority of SEND and Education law matters.
